This is an interesting retake.  In the original, Thailog was clearly a colored cel (and he had no mouth).  But in the retake, he's clearly a painting with the stone textures and everything.  It looks better now, right?  But then we have the next frame...

And... he's not a painting!  He looks just like he did in the original episode!  Well, it's pretty obvious that he's a cel because he was animated. You can't really animate a painting.  So, my only question is... why did they go to all the trouble of painting Thailog just for that one shot?  Why not just leave him the way that he was?  Beats me!
