This is what Mary and Tom actually look like: 
Then how do you explain this? 
Tom: Mother, our clothes changed colors! And my hair turned red!
Mary: Hush, we're watching the gargoyles beat the Vikings! Tom: [alarmed] Mother, you lost an arm!! Mary: [distracted] That's nice, dear. Tom: I'm scared! My guess is that whoever colored this cel didn't realize that those were Mary and Tom. And so, they got random colors! Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable explanation for this coloring error... That still doesn't explain Mary's missing arm, though...
